Maintenance Management / Information System (MMS) :
BASE’s solution portfolio has the Maintenance Management / Information Software (MMS) package which maintains a computer database of information about an organization’s maintenance operations. This information is intended to help maintenance workers to do their jobs more effectively (for example, determining which machines require maintenance, which field devices require calibration and which store rooms contain the spare parts they need) and to help management make informed decisions (for example, calculating the cost of machine breakdown repair versus preventive maintenance for each machine). MMS data may also be used to verify regulatory compliance. Also, MMS packages may be used by any organization that has to perform maintenance on equipment, assets and property.
MMS packages can produce status reports and documents giving details and summaries of maintenance activities. The more sophisticated the package, the more analysis facilities are available. MMS packages can be either web-based, meaning they are hosted by BASE on an outside server or LAN based.
Importance of Maintenance Scheduling :
- Assists in optimal use of the maintenance staff.
- Effective utilisation of the equipment.
- Eliminates unnecessary interruptions in the production flow.
Benefits :
- Minimizes loss of productive time.
- Minimizes repair time and cost.
- Keeps productive assets in working condition.
- Minimizes accidents.
- Minimizes total maintenance cost.
- Improves quality of products.
