Chemical - Petrochemical

BASE is equipped to undertake Process Automation projects in various process industries, especially chemical & petrochemical industry depending upon the application.

Petrochemicals are derived from various chemical compounds, mainly from hydrocarbons. These hydrocarbons are derived from crude oil and natural gas. Among the various fractions produced by distillation, the main feed stocks for the petrochemical industry are crude oil, petroleum gases, naphtha, kerosene and gas oil. Ethane, propane and natural gas are the other important feed stock used in the petrochemicals industry. Petrochemical industry plays a vital role in economic growth and development of the manufacturing sector. The value addition in the petrochemicals industry is higher than most of the other industry sectors.

Presently the petrochemical products are permeating the entire spectrum of everyday items and covers almost every sphere of life. Examples: clothing, housing, construction, furniture, automobiles, household items, agriculture, horticulture, irrigation, packaging, medical appliances, electronics and electrical etc.

BASE can help the chemical and petrochemical industry to reach their goals with our control solution for the major issues regarding chemical and petrochemical processing. We evaluate the needs and recommend solutions to help maintain a trouble free operation and to achieve factory and regulatory compliance.

Maintenance Management / Information System (MMS):

BASE’s solution portfolio has the Maintenance Management / Information Software (MMS) package which maintains a computer database of information about an organization’s maintenance operations. This information is intended to help maintenance workers to do their jobs more effectively (for example, determining which machines require maintenance, which field devices require calibration and which store rooms contain the spare parts they need) and to help management make informed decisions (for example, calculating the cost of machine breakdown repair versus preventive maintenance for each machine). MMS data may also be used to verify regulatory compliance. Also, MMS packages may be used by any organization that has to perform maintenance on equipment, assets and property.

MMS packages can produce status reports and documents giving details and summaries of maintenance activities. The more sophisticated the package, the more analysis facilities are available. MMS packages can be either web-based, meaning they are hosted by BASE on an outside server or LAN based.

Importance of Maintenance Scheduling:

  • Assists in optimal use of the maintenance staff.
  • Effective utilisation of the equipment.
  • Eliminates unnecessary interruptions in the production flow.

  • Minimizes loss of productive time.
  • Minimizes repair time and cost.
  • Keeps productive assets in working condition.
  • Minimizes accidents.
  • Minimizes total maintenance cost.
  • Improves quality of products.
